“Arches” Call for Entries
The Arch Contest is one of the most anticipated traditions of the Flower Festival. Now in its 9th year, the Flower Committee invites all floral art enthusiasts—individually or in groups—to transform the spaces of Antigua Guatemala into vibrant portals filled with color, creativity, and life.
This competition seeks to highlight the talent of artists in disciplines such as floral art, landscaping, botany, and architecture, offering a space for expression that unites tradition, innovation, and culture. Year after year, the arches have become icons of the festival, showcasing the quality and artistic sensibility of creators worldwide.
Cash Prize
3 first places, each with a cash prize + more prizes from sponsors.
Arch Bases
→Participants must be over 18 years of age.
→Each team must have a representative.
→Each team may only submit one proposal.
→They should be inspired by the theme 2025: OLD CITY OF ARTS. As a reference, you can include some of these artists: Carlos Mérida, Goyri, Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, Miguel Angel Asturias, Enrique Cruz España, among others.

The technical specifications of the bow are as follows:
◦ Height: 3.10 m
◦ Width: 3.50 m
◦ With 2 legs 3 m long for stability
◦ With 34 rings, each 24 cm in diameter.
→The design must consist of fresh flowers; the use of paper or plastic flowers is not permitted.
→The permitted materials are the following:
◦ Dehydrated and/or textured organic material.
◦ Natural pigments.
◦ Elements such as logs, wooden structures and others that
add interest to the design.
→Prohibited materials:
◦ Materials of animal origin.
◦ Paper flowers or plastic flowers.
◦ Incense
→The arch must be ready by 7:00 am on Saturday and must be dismantled that same day by 5:00 pm (both days)
** We will establish a safekeeping area (in order to safeguard the works of art)
Failure to comply with these regulations will result in automatic disqualification from the competition.
